The reason anything gets done (intention) (037)

1st Law Monday - Feb 26 2024

Happy Monday.

This week, I challenge you to work and live with intention.

Intention is the reason anything meaningful gets accomplished.

Do people get 100% on tests without studying with that intention?

Was the iPhone not designed with the intention of being the best phone? (Even if you don't think it is don't @ me).

Do you think the CEO's of major companies did not intend to be there?

If you are just working, without a goal and without intention, your accomplishments will be sub par.

Without a focused goal and intentional effort, how could they be anything else.

Working with intention is simple (but not easy).

Decide what goal you are trying to accomplish.

And if you decide that you are going to use a certain block of time for a certain purpose, do it.

Do not multitask, do not work distracted.

Just focus on doing what you intended to do.

Do it mindfully and with the intention of doing your best work.

Success will be yours.

It doesn't have to be work either.

If you are drinking a coffee, drink your coffee with intention.

If you are going on a walk to clear your head, leave the phone at home and walk without distraction.

If you are meeting a friend, try to avoid disruptions to the conversation and truly be present with them.

"Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny." — Aristotle
