The only true edge (147)
Dec 1 2025

Another week off but at least its not two… is what I had written a month ago. Here we are after a brief haitus. This will not be the last newsletter.
The only true edge
The only enduring edge is a psychological edge. Do not be afraid to be weird. Be an outlier. Work harder, be cringy, all of these things will set you apart. Most people want to be comfortable. Working hard is hard. It’s called working hard for a reason. Most people cannot copy it. Form independent opinions and have conviction. Work hard on outlier projects.
Companies don’t have moats. People are the moat.
Everything can be copied but the mindset. The internal engine is irreplicable.
Commercialising energy
The whole journey of humans revolves around our ability to harness energy and commoditize mother nature. Fire, coal, oil, turbines, nuclear, solar. All so we can heat ourselfes, light our planet at night, and scroll through reels. We convert mass into having the properties that we want to build, in order to manufacture homes, cars, planes, buildings, clothes, etc…. Enough energy hits the Earth from the sun each hour to power everything for a whole year.
I wonder what the next step in our energy frontier is? What if energy were abundant? It seems that it is unevitable that we will one day be so efficient at harnessing energy that we will struggle to use it all. It will be free.
Quick thoughts
Musement > Amusement. Weekends and evenings should be spent replenishing my Aura. Reading, writing, stretching, meditating, exercising… Creating not consuming.
I am for some reason enamored by analog personal devices. I love the idea of a mechanical watch, carrying cash, old cars with no electronics/ AC, walking around with empty pockets. Keys > key fobs. Roll-down windows > switch to control. Physical books > Kindle. Notebook > notes app. Not sure why?
I am not really into record players (yet) but I understand the people who are.
Always think about optionality. How do I get all of the good with less of the bad?
Quote to go
“We are still masters of our fate. We are still captains of our souls.”
