Focus for the week

Ensuring I complete one task daily has been a useful strategy at work. I originally got this idea from the phrase/ concept of working open to goal instead of open to close. I still have to work open to close due to the nature of my employment, but my main focus for each day is on one specific task. Once it is completed, I take my foot off the gas and prep other tasks for subsequent days. This strategy is not perfect, and some tasks take more than one day, but I am trying to implement this ideology daily and have seen some benefits.

Also, the flip phone experiment did not work out… sadly. It is difficult only to have a flip phone with you these days, and against my intentions, I found myself just walking around with two phones instead of one. Things I couldn’t do: scan into the gym as my only pass was in my Apple wallet, listen to music in my car since there’s no Bluetooth on the flip phone, check messages on platforms other than text… Overall, I wanted this to be a feasible strategy for regaining some mental clarity and avoiding distractions, but I may have to look elsewhere for some solutions.

What I’m Reading

I am still reading The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss. Many concepts are familiar to me from past reading and research, but it is always a good reminder that health is #1. Learning more tips and tricks for effective health management and improvement can never hurt. The main takeaways so far are to train to failure when training for growth, take cold showers, and get my blood work done before I supplement with any vitamins/ minerals.

Have a great week :)
