Sit Less Stretch More
Throughout history, humans have sat more and more. Chairs used to be exclusively for royalty, but since the industrial revolution humans have been sitting for unprecedented amounts of time due to standardized schooling and the increase of office jobs. Unfortunately for most of us who sit for hours daily, sitting has been linked to higher mortality rates (I have no facts here just google it). For a counter example, look at the Japanese. A notoriously long living ethnicity who commonly sit on the floor.
Today, sit less. Set a timer to stretch quickly every 90 minutes. Just get up and do some lunges, maybe squat and try touch your toes. Nothing too strenuous, just get the blood flowing.
What I’m Reading
I am still reading Power vs Force by David R. Hawkins. It is a somewhat woo-woo, holistic health book but I believe the message is strong; your beliefs shape your world. Align your thoughts with who you want to be and you will achieve it.
“To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order; we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.”
Set your heart right.
Have a great week :)
