Focus for the week

Fostering the attention span. Cutting down on the distractions by blocking Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc. on all devices. Actually only doing one thing at a time, e.g. not listening to podcasts while working. Focused time blocks broken up by time to relax the mind before refocusing.

This website has 100+ diagrams that illustrate the rising inequality and overall trend towards chaos that seems to have began accelerating in 1971… The same year the US dollar abandoned the gold standard. Coincidence? Decide for yourself.

What I’m Reading

I’m currently reading The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida. Honestly, its a book that can definitely turn some people off just by the title. But similar to titles such as The 4 Hour Work Week, or I Will Teach You To Be Rich, its just marketing. The Way of the Superior Man is one of the best books I have every read on relationships, love and mindset. Highly recommend.

“Men who have lived significant lives are men who never waited: not for money, security, ease, or women. Feel what you want to give most as a gift, to your woman and to the world, and do what you can to give it today. Every moment waited is a moment wasted, and each wasted moment degrades your clarity of purpose.”

David Deida, The Way of the Superior Man

“Just remember that self-discipline is not self-suppression. Suppression is when you resist and fight against your desires, keeping them as buried and unexpressed as possible. Self-discipline is when your highest desires rule your lesser desires, not through resistance, but through loving action grounded in understanding and compassion.”

David Deida, The Way of the Superior Man

“Your fear is the sharpest definition of your self. You should know it. You should feel it virtually constantly. Fear needs to become your friend, so that you are no longer uncomfortable with it.”

David Deida, The Way of the Superior Man

Have a great week :)
