Filing your thoughts (125)

Filing your thoughts
All thoughts are either memories, plans, or imaginations. When I am meditating and notice a thought, I recognize what category the thought falls under and file it away, then I refocus on my breathing. The act of filing the thought into a category helps in acknowledging the thought and being able to move on from it. I also apply this when I am lost in thought, as it is interesting to see which category is most popular. I feel like a well rounded mind produces all three fairly equally.
Just a cool technique I picked up this week. Let me know if you do something similar, or have an additional category I should add!
Quote to go
“Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder, but nobody wants to lift no heavy-ass weights.”
My interpretation: you must enjoy the process. If you loathe the actions required to progress, you will fall off as soon as the initial motivation fades. Align your goals with your inclinations and progress will feel effortless.
